Time to act!

It’s war – time to act!

During the night of November 19-20, Turkish fascism launched a new offensive against the revolution in Kurdistan. With dozens of fighter planes, combat drones, rockets and artillery shells, hundreds of villages and towns in Rojava/Northern Syria and Southern Kurdistan came under fire. Hospitals and schools are being destroyed, food and energy supplies are being targeted, and civilian infrastructure and people’s living spaces are being bombed without interruption.

While the liberated and self-governed areas of Rojava have been rocked by detonations for the past five days, the attacks of the Turkish occupation army, even in the mountains of southern Kurdistan continue with unabated ferocity. In their attempt to break the resistance of the guerrilla forces of the Kurdish freedom movement, the Turkish armed forces have been resorting to chemical weapons almost every day since April 17 and have been pouring toxic war gases into the guerrillas’ war tunnels. But despite all this, the guerrilla forces continue to put up determined resistance. The Turkish army has not succeeded in achieving its war aims and occupying the region in the long term. With the start of a new offensive in northern Syria, the tide is now to be turned.

There can be no doubt about the intentions of dictator Erdogan. Regarding the revolution of Rojava and the struggle of the Kurdish movement, he openly declares that his goal is “to exterminate them all […] with our tanks, soldiers and allies[…]”. The massive attacks on civilian infrastructure in Rojava and northern Syria, leaves no doubt that he is willing to put these plans into action. The bombings are intended to “soften up” the region, deprive the population of its livelihood and break their will to resist. The war that the fascist regime is waging must be called what it is: a war of extermination.

A war of extermination that is only possible thanks to the permission of the USA and the Russian Federation to use the airspace over northern and eastern Syria at will and that is only conceivable thanks to the unrestricted support and backing of the assembled NATO and what has been so fondly referred to as the “collective West” in recent months. It is states like the Federal Republic of Germany that keep the Turkish war machine running with their arms cooperation, their economic agreements and their military-intelligence cooperation. It is the European Union that fills Erdogan’s war chest with its financial injections in the billions, delivered under the cynical pretext of “refugee aid”, and ensures that the Turkish army never runs out of ammunition.

It is the hypocritical policy of a Europe, a “collective West” and its lying “communities of values” that does not tire day in and day out of shedding crocodile tears over the suffering of the people in Ukraine, but declares the Erdogan regime’s war of annihilation as “legitimate self-defense” of Turkey. It is precisely these states that have opposition activists from Turkey spied on, criminalized, imprisoned and deported in this country as well, and turn a blind eye when the Turkish secret service brings the regime’s repressive policies to Europe and murders.

We have understood that this war also takes its beginning here and we are more than ever sure that it is useless to appeal to all those who have blood on their hands for years. The backers of Turkish fascism think that they are safe and that they can earn a lot of money from this war. We will teach them better. It is time to call the culprits by name and to target the enemy. The revolution in Kurdistan, in recent years, has become a ray of hope for revolutionary forces and all those who are fighting for a different world worldwide. We have realized that this struggle is our struggle, this revolution is our revolution and its enemies are also our enemies. Let us treat them as such!

Today we must not wait any longer, but act with determination, anger and courage, because the fate of the revolution in Kurdistan is at stake today. We welcome all those who have already taken heart in the past days and have taken action during the night. The actions of the last days were only the beginning. We call on everyone to attack the structures of Turkish fascism, the arms industry, places of economic cooperation with Turkey and those political forces that continue to shake hands and pave the way for this murderous regime with determined, creative and militant actions.

Let us show the people in Kurdistan that they are not alone and that we will not leave a quiet hinterland to the Turkish war of extermination here in Europe!

Targets are everywhere – let’s attack them!
